Three New Projects

As promised, i already arranged my lanai and as much that i wanted to look like it was a balinese inspired one, i knew that I have to be more creative and add some more balinese element. I do hope I'm getting there. There's a lot to be done and the roofing on the extended lanai gave me the freedom to set my two solihiya chairs and my beloved almost daybed bench. What I love about this now is that the artwork and the green wall accent compliments each other. It was just recent that i add the artwork because i know i have to break the color. Green is really dominating the space. With it on the middle, its contrast to the green wall accent enhances the space and gives it a polished look. Now i have an extended seating area where i can entertain my friends. Everyone is so eager to visit the house and experience my new lanai. I am looking for an accent lighting, maybe a Persian or Moroccan lamp to light up the space. I also have to update the pillows for a more comfty look. I am also planning to plant succulents on the wooden planter. For now, I'm enjoying the space and I'm so proud of it.
My niece is so loving her new room. Before, a queen size bed occupied the room. It was too large that what you can see is the bed and nothing else. The only free space is the side of the bed that makes the room cramped, heavy and cluttered. I was too eager to make this as my project and to give her a bed that she can hang out with her friends. Now, a sofa bed with pull out replaced their over sized bed. I also gave her a bookshelves for she has a lot of reading materials and stuff in school. The overhang cabinet will be for some of her items that needed some storage. Now the room is so bright, clean and fun. I am planning to repaint the room and gave her a nice chandelier!
The last project is my wine bar/pantry cabinet. i am very proud of this because its my design. I am usually designing the cabinetry at home but this one is so special because its very challenging. It was fitted on the wall which was angled differently. It was customized as i need to limit its size as not to over crowd the space. Now i have the luxury of storing my wines, my platters and my canned goods as well. In fact, toiletries, soaps and other items are also stored in here. The cabinet with its surprisingly multiple compartments gave me the freedom of a more storage spaces which i really need. I love this design since i incorporated my love for old material by utilizing my antique candelabras as a post in the counter. what i need now is to fill up the wine rack and put some accessories. I know that its gonna be great because it looks great as it is.

That i am thinking of repainting the house white!!! uhmmm...

The L shaped Sofa

An L shape sofa is a sofa that is literally designed in the shape of an L. It is designed like this for a number of reasons, and is a great choice for many different kinds of living rooms. Many people are buying L shaped sofas these days, in fact, for all of the benefits they offer. So, in case you have not been able to witness these benefits firsthand, here they are! First and foremost, an L shape sofa gives you more actual sitting room than does a regular sofa. Why? Well, because there is simply more of it to sit on! There is the main section (much like a normal couch), then, there is the elbow (a very relaxing spot to sit, I might add..), and the rest of the L on the end...which is usually the size of at least a small loveseat. And since there is so much room on these pieces to sit, you can fit a lot more people onto an L shaped sofa like this than you could on a regular sofa. The next benefit that an L shape sofa gives us is the benefit of being more affordable. Now, at this, you ...

Make Me Home No.4

Welcome to Make me Home edition 4. Weve been doing the dining, living and kitchen already and i guess its proper to feature a bedroom as well. This time, i want to feature a bedroom which is so typical to a filipino setting where the bedroom is shared by siblings. It is a common fact that due to limited space and budget, room sharing is an option to a modest family. Though privacy may be a little bit of a problem when sharing a space, intimacy and healthy relationships can be strengthen by sharing a room with someone who are dear to us. This room may be bit of a challenge for me. When i saw the room, i thought, a bed with a pull out will definitely solve the small space problem. But, its kinda ackward for someone to sleep on the pull out right? In fact, sleeping in a pull out is just an option for a sleep overs. It will be greater and even righteous to give a bed to everyone so they can have a space of their own. So i envisioned a "chic retreat style" for th...

Creating a Summer Look

Since its month end and before the summer ends (though as noticed, temperatures keep rising as we approach the supposedly raining months), i decided to upgrade the look of my place. In fact, this is so much anticipated not just because i really wanted a summer look (which is inspired by the last edition of real living magazine) but because were celebrating mothers day and my mothers birthday. And i would like to say that this inspiration is a tribute to my mom who little by little is adjusting to my new found passion on house decorating. As noticed, i already incorporated my flea market finds on my nest. The native drums, candelabras and two garden set stool which became my side tables are now part of my design. The old artworks are still there. I managed to blend in my old pieces, those that i already have in my new color scheme. In fact, this were my considerations before i chose the blues over the creams as wall color. I made it sure that my old pieces will never be outdated or out...
