The new lay out...

My problem is that my new living room lay out lacks intimacy and looks like a display, not a place to hang out. So one time, alone at home, i decided to move the sofa far from the wall and place it in front of the entertainment area. I notice that the living room now looks filled up but not cluttered. I so love the new layout because it envibes intimacy. Enjoy...

Put some Colors!!!

This is before, boring, cold and unhappy. The furnitures and upholsteries are on the same color thats why it tends to sink over the blue walls. The blue walls are overshadowing the living room making it the focal point of the room. The living room is dull and uninviting... But now with the addition of colors, the room becomes brighter, cheerful and inviting. Getting color inspiration from the artwork, injection of orange color, compliments the existing blue walls making the furnitures popped out from the wall and get noticed. Now its the furnitures which is the focal point of the room and not the blue wall. The artwork becomes part of the room and not just an added piece. Addition of green on the pillows and green rug is a nice contrast on the orange but brings the citrusy and fun on the space. Result is an alive space, fun and inviting. Not boring at all!!!

My New Living Room...enjoy

Go for Bold...

from this one....the all blue wall color to this one...making this one as the featured wall... do not afraid to go for bold color choices...it can make a difference...

New Look

This is the updated look...not a polished look but i know i had started it already...

Updated look!!!

My mother was so supportive of my ideas, she made some pillow cases to match my bench makeover. She even designed two pillows to have a different but coherent look. How i love the center pillow that matches my dimensional art piece. I also took some pictures of my buddha collections. I felt so wonderful looking at it. I hope i can still purchase some more. I love it!

Soften the Look!

I purchased this wooden bench a long time ago, this was used to be on the terrace, then went to my lanai, and now on my living room. I attempted to place it there in preparation for my acquisition of a new L-shaped sofa and giving the old one to charity(hehehe). This is my first move since i have to have something to sit on when the perfect L-shaped sofa arrives. My mother will scold me if i dont have anything on the living room. I am so inlove with the wood but for sure, our butts are not. So i decided to soften the look by adding upholsteries and a few pillows. Now, from hard, it drastically changed into a softer look. Its more comfortable and more living roomish in style. I am loving the look right now and i think im still contented with it. How i wish i can have it that way forever...Oh that curtain should really make a statement, for now, its dull and lifeless. Think i should start thinking about my plans for the curtain! And i want it soon!

10 Best Plans for 2011

I have so many things in mind this year. And i have so many projects that i wanted to finished. This new year needs a brand new look at home. So this is my plan... 1. Replace the old curtains with a new one. This time, it will be printed fabric in yellow and black. Before, i have several curtains but i see no character in it. I wanted a curtain that will enhance the look of my living room, something that is inviting and fun. 2. Build a customized wine/pantry cabinet as a partition between my living room and my dining room. This will be painted in white, functional and will really divide the space without obstructing the open lay out plan. I have a very nice idea/plan on how its gonna be. It will create an impact on the space plus creating more storage because of my needs. 3. Paint the living room and the dining room white. This will serve as my canvass for my black, yellow and blue color palette for 2011. I decided to inject some greens, maybe with plants. I cannot get away with real

Happy New Year!!!

Hope the New Year ahead will give us a new hope, a new beginning and a prosperous and productive life...welcome 2011! Cheers...
