10 Best Plans for 2011

I have so many things in mind this year. And i have so many projects that i wanted to finished. This new year needs a brand new look at home. So this is my plan...
1. Replace the old curtains with a new one. This time, it will be printed fabric in yellow and black. Before, i have several curtains but i see no character in it. I wanted a curtain that will enhance the look of my living room, something that is inviting and fun.
2. Build a customized wine/pantry cabinet as a partition between my living room and my dining room. This will be painted in white, functional and will really divide the space without obstructing the open lay out plan. I have a very nice idea/plan on how its gonna be. It will create an impact on the space plus creating more storage because of my needs.

3. Paint the living room and the dining room white. This will serve as my canvass for my black, yellow and blue color palette for 2011. I decided to inject some greens, maybe with plants. I cannot get away with real plants at home. It invites freshness and growth.

4. A built in shoe cabinet with shelves on top. This will be a great welcoming attraction upon entering the house. The top will display my collection of arts and antiques. I really wanted to maximize the space without cluttering it. In this way, things will be on proper places and uncluttered.

5. Distressed wooden rocking chair with a nice pillow will be the new addition to my house. I want the relaxing vibe to it and it is a conversational piece also. I am so much excited to put on a very nice pillow on it. This will make my space interesting and relaxing at the same time.

6. I want a new refrigerator. It should be traditional, white and will fit on the space provided. My mother will be so thrilled because she really wanted it. But im eyeing for a wooden-like design for my ref. But i will never go for gray or metallic.

7. Repaint my bedroom an asian red to go with my theme if my mother will allow me. (Lol). Maybe paint one side red and the other side brown. I hope this color combination matches, but im so positive about it. Additional dark blue paint will be added to my bathroom for a more coastal vibe. It will make my bathroom alive and fun!

8. A new flat screen tv will be my new baby for the living room! My old TV needs a replacement soon!

9. Built in shelves will be added for my yellow, black and blue accessories! Isnt this picture below wonderful? with so many pieces at home, i think my collections needed their own space for display.
10. And a new L shaped sofa leather sofa will replace the old three piece sofa. This should be clean, not bulky and comfortable. This will go with my antique chestbox and my new wooden rocking chair. The look will be less cluttered, spacious and manly at the same time!

I am so excited to start now....

The L shaped Sofa

An L shape sofa is a sofa that is literally designed in the shape of an L. It is designed like this for a number of reasons, and is a great choice for many different kinds of living rooms. Many people are buying L shaped sofas these days, in fact, for all of the benefits they offer. So, in case you have not been able to witness these benefits firsthand, here they are! First and foremost, an L shape sofa gives you more actual sitting room than does a regular sofa. Why? Well, because there is simply more of it to sit on! There is the main section (much like a normal couch), then, there is the elbow (a very relaxing spot to sit, I might add..), and the rest of the L on the end...which is usually the size of at least a small loveseat. And since there is so much room on these pieces to sit, you can fit a lot more people onto an L shaped sofa like this than you could on a regular sofa. The next benefit that an L shape sofa gives us is the benefit of being more affordable. Now, at this, you ...

Make Me Home No.4

Welcome to Make me Home edition 4. Weve been doing the dining, living and kitchen already and i guess its proper to feature a bedroom as well. This time, i want to feature a bedroom which is so typical to a filipino setting where the bedroom is shared by siblings. It is a common fact that due to limited space and budget, room sharing is an option to a modest family. Though privacy may be a little bit of a problem when sharing a space, intimacy and healthy relationships can be strengthen by sharing a room with someone who are dear to us. This room may be bit of a challenge for me. When i saw the room, i thought, a bed with a pull out will definitely solve the small space problem. But, its kinda ackward for someone to sleep on the pull out right? In fact, sleeping in a pull out is just an option for a sleep overs. It will be greater and even righteous to give a bed to everyone so they can have a space of their own. So i envisioned a "chic retreat style" for th...

La Residencia Almar...my home in Dumaguete

This is La Residencia Almar in Dumaguete City where i stayed for six nights. Actually, this is my second time to stay in this hotel because i was here last year. I opted to stay again in this hotel because i love the view in its front and it is smaller than the usual hotel located in Dumaguete. In front of the hotel is the famous Dumaguete Boulevard where a lot of people, local and tourist gather every morning and at night to see the majestic view of the sea. But what makes me desire to stay once again is tits beautiful interior, a Balinese theme which i always love in every home. The nice lighting fixture greeted me as I enter the hotel. This is spectacular especially at night. I love the simple but colorful detail at the base of the chandelier. The nuetral paint, with mostly beige, white and brown accentuated by several niches where an old jars are kept in display, trimmings and wooden pieces makes me think that I am in an old world retreat but nev...
